Today's issue is brought to you by High Performance Founder. They help high-achieving entrepreneurs get lean, boost energy & build confident-looking bodies in a way that supports their busy lifestyle.
I was talking to a business mentor the other day. I told him about some obstacles going on my my business and he said something that hit me like a ton of bricks:
When discipline fails, systems scale.
Giving it more thought I realized that success is a system.
For business success, you have systems for client acquisition, fulfillment & customer service.
For family success, you have systems of spending quality time, date nights, and ways to interact with your loved ones.
A lean body is not something that happens by accident. It's behind having a great system.
Over the past 2 decades, I've been able to hone mine in to become automatic in getting clients lean and in shape.
I did a video on my entire system that I've simplified down to 4 simple steps.
You can get the system here.
Life becomes easier when you know what to do and put it into a routine.
I hope the system I've provided helps you simplify the process of getting lean so you can spend more of your focus on your business & family.
4 Ways To Become a Better Human
1. How to double your metabolism sitting at your desk
Soleus pushups doubled the normal rate of fat metabolism in the fasting period between meals, reducing levels of triglycerides in the blood.
Studies show soleus pushups also experienced a decrease in blood glucose by 52% and insulin reduced by 60%.
How to do them:
While seated with feet flat on the floor and muscles relaxed, the heel rises while the front of the foot stays put.
When the heel gets to the top of its range of motion, the foot is passively released to come back down.
Do this as many times as possible while sitting at your desk.
2. The 10-10-10 Rule
If you're stressing over something, use the 10-10-10 rule.
Will it matter in 10 days? 10 months? 10 years?
After getting some perspective, you'll notice how very few things are actually worth the stress.
3. Light Manipulation
As the weather gets colder we experience less light exposure which affects our mood and energy.
To battle this aim for having bright lights during the day and dim your lights at night.
Also, make sure to still get outside as you still get some photo rays from the sun even through the clouds.
4. Science is not absolute
The last decade has been a renaissance for science.
While following the evidence has helped us advance our lives in many ways we have to realize that it speaks in probabilities.
Not every study works on 100% of the people they test on. There are outliers.
This is all to say that it's best to use science combined with your own experience to guide your results.
This is how you see what works for you.
Client of the Week - C.F., Entrepreneur
C is an entrepreneur who wanted to lose weight and get healthy so he could become a better example to his kids.
His main goal was to drop the weight (especially around the belly) and take off his shirt at the pool with confidence.
In 6 months he's dropped 54 lbs while fitting into his old suits he used to fit in 10 years ago. His kids told him that he lost his tummy and he's feeling more confident than ever before.
Our strategy:
· Get into a calorie deficit while upping his protein intake
· Do some form of cardio that he enjoyed, which was kickboxing
· Incorporated a cool-down practice after work so he could avoid stress eating and spend more present time with his family.
1 Quote to Finish Your Week Strong
" Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.
Don’t be trapped by dogma—which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.
Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice.
And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
― Steve Jobs
What would you be doing in life if there were no limits to what you could achieve?
Onwards and upwards,
